History

With over 35 years of experience in the trucking industry, Robert Bearden, founder and current president of Robert Bearden Inc. bought RBI’s first tractor and trailer in 1997. Since 1997, Robert Bearden Inc. has strived to meet and exceed its customer’s expectations with unparallel service, ease of doing business, and a first-class operations and driver team. This philosophy has allowed us to grow rapidly from one tractor and trailer to over 200 tractors and 660 trailers in 14 years.

In October of 2002, a new 5,500 square foot office building was built in Cairo Georgia’s Industrial Park in order to accommodate RBI’s growth. In August of 2004, Robert Bearden Inc. addressed its rapid growth again and opened a 13,000 square foot maintenance facility in Valdosta, GA.

In 2009, Robert Bearden Inc. started a refrigerated division with 20 new 53' SpaceSaver Reefers with goals to grow in the Southeast Region.

Most recently, in 2012, Robert Bearden, Inc. became a 100% Employee-Owned Company.  In addition to our 401K with matching contributions, drivers can now earn stock in our company that goes towards their retirement.

Throughout our history we have continued to make strong investments in technology including GPS tracking on all tractors and trailers, full EDI capabilities, and our recent investment of Auxiliary Power Units on all tractors. With our unparallel commitment to service and recent investments in technology we are positioned for future growth and we will continue to strive to be the premier carrier for the Southeast Region.
